Tigallerro, which is a combination of Phonte’s Tigallo nickname and Roberson’s Erro name, is the exact definition of the expression short and sweet with just 10 tracks:
Being in love takes hard work and dedication but when you’ve found the one, love tends to be smoother. On the intro track “It’s So Easy,” that is certainly the case. Erro has found a woman who is extra special and makes it easy to love her.
Everyone has their ideal partner in mind and we learn what kind of ladies Phonte and Roberson like on the track “My Kinda Lady.” A lady who looks good whether dressed up or in his sweats. A lady who can quote Nina Simone but still rock with De La Soul. That’s the kind of lady they like.
Phonte and Roberson encourage listeners to “Hold Tight” to love because it is righteous and vibrant. If you have someone good in your life, hold on tight because there’s nothing in these streets.
It is potentially more common than we would like to admit, but I am sure a number of us have told someone we love them when we didn’t mean it. Erro and Phonte admit to doing just that on “Grow this Love.” He admits that he was confused and thought he was falling in love but in fact was falling way too fast. Now that they know the difference, they want to continue to grow their love with specific ladies.
Saying yes to love without question is a great feeling and it’s even better when it’s with someone special who can brighten your mood instantly. On “Never the Same Smile” Erro is fascinated with his lady’s smile because it’s incredible as if the sky lit up.
Erro can admit that he is not in love with a certain lady but if she wants to try love again once the storm in their relationship is over, he will be “Waiting 4 Ya.”
Phonte and Erro knew of a woman who was bad with intriguing eyes. Erro doesn’t know if he’s the only guy in her life but if the truth means he can’t have her then he wants her to “Lie to Me” because he can’t fight how he feels about her.
It’s “3:45” and Erro has been waiting to get his lady home all night long. She wants satisfaction and as soon as they get through the door he plans to give her what she desires.
The album closes out with the song “Something” which reiterates the idea that there is always something to turn things around and change your life.
Nowadays love in music has become so vulgar and oversexualized that it is revitalizing to hear music from men who actually appreciate their women. Although this is a joint album, it does tend to lean more towards the R&B side. However, when Phonte steps onto the track, it reminds us of how amazing he is lyrically. Both Phonte and Erro were already great artists in their own rights, however, when the two of them get together it is magical.
