Trey can make woman swoon with little effort so it’s not surprising that he is considered a playboy. While that persona has followed him for years, it seems that he is ready for love on Tremaine the Album.
Trey is feeling nostalgic and there’s only one woman he wants to “Come Over.” He has turned off his phones and told everyone to leave him alone because he only wants to spend time with her. Although he knows he shouldn’t be around her, he wants her close because she still has his heart.
Trey doesn’t want to move too fast or ruin the moment between him and his “#1Fan.” He finds himself feeling nervous because he doesn’t want to ruin her expectations but he’s going to read her body language to make the moment memorable for them both.
On the track “Nobody Else But You,” there’s a special lady in his life and Trey only wants her. People have warned her and told her that Trey is no good for her but she’s the only one he wants.
Trey addresses his life as a “Playboy” and wonders why he’s still club hopping looking for a woman. He’s tired of the playboy lifestyle. He wants to find a lady he can make love to and settle down with but the game won’t let him out.
In what seems like a continuation of his “Scratching Me Up” series, Trey sings about him and his lady mess up the sheets when they are together on the track “The Sheets…Still.” His lady can’t stop scratching him up but he welcomes the pain.
Trey finds himself face to face with a woman from his past that he hasn’t seen in a long time. He isn’t prepared to just let her walk away because she still has pieces to his heart. He wants to know how she feels and he plans to tell her how he feels before the “Song Goes Off.”
Although the girl he’s with is playing shy on the track “She Lovin It,” he knows that she wants him as much as he wants her. She says that she doesn’t want to be loved or touched but she can’t keep her hands off of Trey. He knows she loves it when he gets her off.
When the day turns into night, Trey’s lady reveals the freak and “Animal” in her and he’s ready to hunt her.
On the track “1x1,” Trey is ready for another round with his lady. He can’t stop thinking about their first time and he’s ready for more.
The love of his special lady is “Priceless” and he can’t afford to lose it. All the money and fame don’t mean anything to Trey if his queen isn’t by his side. He’s ready for her to take her throne.
Trey wonders what’s next for their relationship on the track “What Are We Here For.”
On the track, “Games We Play,” Trey is tired of the games because nothing will change in their relationship. The song features MIKExANGEL.
Trey questions if the relationship between a lady who caught his eye and her man is really “Picture Perfect.” He can tell she’s hurting underneath the surface. He knows they won’t last and he’s just waiting for his turn with her.
After all Trey and his lady have been through, he doesn’t want to break from them or “Break from Love.”
Trey is known best for selling sex through his music. His music usually revolves around his sexcapades and ability to make his lovers scream his name. After a while, that can become mundane and it’s nice to hear something new from him on his latest album. While he doesn’t completely steer clear of the sex tunes, he does show a more mature side of himself. A side that realizes the playboy lifestyle isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and he’s ready to settle down.
I’ve been a fan of Trey Songz from the beginning but eventually grew tired of hearing him sing about the same old things. I am pleasantly surprised by the direction of Tremaine the Album and it may just be his best album in years.
